The San Francisco Giants still don’t know whether Giancarlo Stanton would be willing to waive his no-trade clause.
But according to Clark Spencer of The Miami Herald, the Giants now know the combination of prospects the Miami Marlins are interested in if the two sides are able to pull off a deal.
On Friday afternoon, Spencer tweeted the Marlins have narrowed their focus to four different Giants’ prospects, including 2017 first round draft choice Heliot Ramos, 2015 first round draft choice Chris Shaw, 2014 first round draft choice Tyler Beede, and 2014 second round draft choice Aramis Garcia. According to Spencer, Giants’ second baseman Joe Panik may also be moved in a potential deal between the teams.
Marlins have narrowed their focus on some combination of these Giants prospects in any trade for Stanton: RHP Tyler Beede, 1B Chris Shaw, OF Heliot Ramos and C Aramis Garcia. 2B Joe Panik could ended up being included in a deal.

The Giants are considered the front-runners to land Stanton by several prominent national reporters, but after a Thursday night meeting between Stanton’s representatives and Giants’ executives, it’s uncertain whether the 2017 National League MVP would be willing to waive his no-trade clause to accept a trade to San Francisco. If Stanton is willing to green-light a deal, the Giants are considered the team that would be most willing to take on a massive sum of the remaining $295 million Miami owes its right fielder.
Because the Giants would eat a large percentage of Stanton’s contract, it’s unlikely a deal between Miami and San Francisco would feature more than one or two of the Giants’ top prospects. The Marlins are reportedly only interested in the Giants’ top talent from a prospect perspective, but because Panik is still young and has a controllable contract, he could be included in a potential trade.
