Defensive end Tank Carradine won’t play today in Chicago. Carradine returned to the field last week against Seattle after missing two months with a foot injury. No word whether he experienced a setback.
The surprise is rookie Adrian Colbert to play and start again at free safety. He missed last week’s game with after having surgery during the bye week to re-set his broken thumb.
Right tackle Trent Brown is also a go in Chicago, after missing last week with a shoulder injury. Brown sustained the injury in pregame warm ups against the Seahawks and was limited in practice during the week. Brown did engage in most of the practice on Friday and he tweeted that he will likely play against the Bears
Without Brown, the 49ers would have been in trouble because the 49ers really don’t have a replacement in the rookie free agent Darrell Williams, who is really not ready. Veteran Zane Beadles was the other option, but he’s really not a right tackle.
The team will also have rookie cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon, who was listed as questionable after tweaking his ankle on Thursday when trying to defend a pass to wide receiver Aldrick Robinson.
