Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Jaydon Blue hopes to be ready for the team’s season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles after sustaining a low-ankle sprain, ESPN reported on Sunday.
Blue had nine carries for 25 yards and a touchdown in Dallas’ 31-13 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Friday before exiting with an ankle injury in the fourth quarter.
The Cowboys visit the Eagles on Sept. 4 in Philadelphia.
The fifth-round pick also injured his ankle during a practice earlier this month.
Blue, 21, rushed for 1,161 yards and 11 touchdowns in three seasons at Texas, including 730 yards on 5.4 yards per carry and eight scores in 2024. He also totaled 368 receiving yards and six TDs last season.
